Air
Whether you're just beginning to suspect a mold issue or you've been managing environmental sensitivities for years, the air category includes bundles designed to meet you where you are. The EC3 Essentials Kit is a travel-friendly introduction that covers air, surfaces, and laundry in one purchase. The EC3 Environmental Kit adds testing capability so you can verify your baseline mold load and track improvement over time. The Air & Clothes Bundle focuses specifically on what you breathe and what touches your skin, two of the most common ongoing exposure routes for sensitized individuals. For practitioners, environmental professionals, and households dealing with significant contamination, our Fogger Bundles offer the equipment and concentrate volume needed for whole-home treatment.
“Taking care of the air you breathe is 5x more important than any other treatment.”
- Dr. Don Dennis, MD, FACS Founder, Micro Balance
Home Air Purification FAQ
All EC3 products share a common active ingredient: a proprietary blend of citrus seed extracts that has been independently tested to lower airborne mold spore counts and reduce mycotoxin levels on treated surfaces. The candles release these botanicals into the air as they burn. The sprays, concentrates, and fogger solutions deliver them directly to surfaces and into ambient air via atomization. The result is a meaningful reduction in the mold load you breathe, touch, and live with daily, without introducing bleach, ammonia, quats, or synthetic fragrances.
Yes. EC3 formulas are botanically based, non-toxic, fragrance-free (no added synthetic fragrance), and safe to use in homes with children, pets, and individuals with multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). The candles use clean-burning soy or beeswax bases with no added fragrance, and the Mold Solution products contain no harsh disinfectants. As with any new product, those with extreme sensitivities should introduce one item at a time and monitor their response.
Both candles deliver the same proprietary citrus seed extract blend and the same air purification benefit. The original formula uses soy wax, which is plant-derived, vegan, and lower in cost. The beeswax formula uses pure, ethically and sustainably sourced beeswax, which burns slightly longer, produces less soot, and is preferred by customers who are sensitive to soy. Choose based on personal preference, either will reduce mold counts in the room where it's burned.
For ongoing maintenance, most customers burn one candle for one to three hours per day in their primary living space or bedroom. During active remediation, after a known mold exposure, or in higher-humidity months, you may want to burn candles in multiple rooms simultaneously or for longer durations. Always trim the wick before each burn (the EC3 Wick Trimmer is designed for this) to ensure a clean, even burn and full distribution of the active ingredients.
This depends on the scale of your space and your situation. The EC3 Mold Solution Spray is sufficient for daily maintenance, spot treatment, travel, cars, and small areas. A fogger is recommended when you need whole-room or whole-home coverage — after water damage, when moving into a new space, during seasonal deep cleans, or when managing a known mold-illness recovery. Fogging reaches surfaces no spray bottle can: ceilings, HVAC interiors, behind furniture, and inside closets. Many customers start with the spray and add a fogger later as their protocol expands.
The standard EC3 Sani-Tizer Fogger atomizes the Mold Solution into a fine mist that settles across surfaces in the treated space. The Electrostatic Sanitizer Fogger does the same, but adds a positive electrical charge to each droplet. Because mold spores and most surfaces carry a slight negative charge, the positively charged droplets wrap around objects 360 degrees and bond more thoroughly. The result is significantly better coverage on complex surfaces, undersides of furniture, cords, electronics, and curved objects — and a more efficient use of solution. For most households, the standard fogger is more than adequate; the electrostatic model has the added benefit of 360-degree coverage and using less concentrate to cover more area.
Absolutely, and this is one of the most common use cases among our customers. Cars, RVs, and hotel rooms are notoriously high in mold exposure due to HVAC condensation, carpet, upholstery, and limited ventilation. The EC3 Essentials Kit was designed in part for travel: the candle, spray, and small concentrate bottles fit easily in luggage and let you treat unfamiliar spaces quickly upon arrival.
The most direct way to verify results is to test before and after. EC3 Mold Screening Test Kits let you take baseline measurements of indoor mold spore levels and re-test after implementing your protocol. Most customers also report subjective improvements — clearer sinuses, better sleep, fewer headaches, less brain fog — within days to weeks of consistent use. Symptom journaling alongside testing gives you the clearest picture.
Yes. The Mold Solution products contain only food-safe botanical ingredients and can be used on countertops, inside refrigerators, on cutting boards, and around dishes. We recommend a quick water rinse for any surface that will come into direct contact with food preparation, simply as standard food-safety practice.
Both approaches work, depending on your situation. For general maintenance and prevention, using products as needed, candle in the bedroom, spray for touch-ups, fogger seasonally, is perfectly effective. For active mold-illness recovery or known exposure, we recommend following our Home Mold Protocol, which sequences testing, treatment, and ongoing maintenance for the strongest results. The Environmental Kit includes everything needed to begin protocol-based use.
