Additionally, you can test again to confirm your initial results. High indoor humidity can also make it difficult to get accurate results as the humidity causes spores to quickly go to the floor and surfaces. A combination of air and tap tests in each room is the best way to get an accurate picture of the fungal load.

You will need a new plate for each room you wish to test. You take the samples, and then count the mold colonies present on the plates after 5 days of incubation. These kits come with a detailed reference guide to determine your test results, but are not sent to a lab for professional analysis. Many people who are mold-sensitive like to use the EC3 plates as a means of monitoring mold counts in their indoor environments. Their lower price-point makes frequent testing more feasible.
